Independence Mall owner buys Sears property

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A New York company made a big purchase in the Wilmington area with a multi-million dollar deal of Sears at Independence Mall.

Rouse Properties bought the Sears property for $10 million on July 13, according to a deed filed to New Hanover County.

This is the same company that bought majority of the Independence Mall back in June.

The store is still open at this time.
