Influenza business forum held

Health officials warn the H1N1 flu virus may spike again in our area. On Thursday, officials from the NHC Health Department hosted an influenza business forum to educate area professionals on how to cut down on the spread of flu in the workplace.

“We have more people out of work sick, more people out with their children sick and we want to provide those resources and tools so businesses can look at their practices, how they can prevent flu spread in their workplace and encourage flu shots for their employees,” said Janet McCumbee of New Hanover County Health Department.

To date, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention report influenza has impacted 11 states, including North Carolina.
