Inman sentenced to twenty years

The man shot by Wilmington police as they raided his gambling operation has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison.

William Inman was sentenced Wednesday. Investigators testified that he would sit at the front door of his pool and spa business on Kerr Avenue with a handgun nearby.

Inman was convicted in May of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The officer fired after seeing Inman pull a gun out of a desk drawer during the raid.
