International flight makes emergency landing at ILM
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A plane traveling from overseas made an emergency landing at ILM, Sunday afternoon.
Airport Deputy Director Gary Broughton said the Boeing 767 with LAN Airlines was traveling from Ecuador to New York City, when a 90-year-old female passenger suffered from a possible cardiac arrest.
Broughton said the woman was talking by the time she was taken off the plane and has been transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Broughton said he believes the plane will now continue its journey to JFK International airport.
