Investigations continue into Leland fires

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A string of fires in the Leland area has several agencies working together.

There were three fires last week, including one that destroyed the Blackwell Chapel AME Zion Church. The cause of all three fires remains under investigation, and so far there is not any clear connection between them.

The SBI, ATF, fire marshals and the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office are looking into each one. Anyone with information should contact the Sheriff’s Office.
