It’s the Orange Bowl for the North Brunswick High School Dance Team
The North Brunswick High School Dance Team will be heading to the City of Salsa next month to take part in the Orange Bowl halftime ceremony. It is a prestigious invitation – an invitation these girls take seriously. But there is no doubt they are determined to have fun when they get there.
“(We are looking forward to) getting out there on game night and getting dressed up,” said North Brunswick dancer Madeline Bordeaux.
And the North Brunswick dancers will be wearing black mini-skirts with 76 on the back of their jerseys. The 76 represents the 76th Orange Bowl.
Connie Woolward is the Scorpion dance coach. This is her 5th year at North Brunswick High School. She said, “They’re amazing. I love them. I wouldn’t take a group on a trip that I wasn’’t absolutely in love with them and this is the best group of girls that I’ve ever worked with.”
It’s a flexible group as well. They are quick on their feet and they will be one of several dance teams performing at the Orange Bowl halftime; a game that will feature the champions of the ACC – Georgia Tech vs. Iowa.
In order to go to Miami, the North Brunswick Dance Team held several fundraisers. They organized a car wash, a spaghetti dinner and a golf tournament.
