It’s another UNCW-Duke matchup in the NCAA’s; it’s baseball this time

WILMINGTON, NC (UNCW) — UNCW will be the two-seed and play Duke in the first game of the NCAA Columbia Regional on Friday at 1 p.m. The Seahawks will be making their eighth NCAA Tournament appearance, all since 2003.

The Seahawks carry a 39-17 record into the regional while the Blue Devils are 33-22 on the season. The two teams have not met since 2006 and UNCW holds a 22-11 lead in the all-time series.

The Seahawks and Blue Devils will join host South Carolina and Atlantic 10 champion Rhode Island in the regional.

All games in the regional will be streamed on the ESPN 3 platform and all UNCW games will be audio streamed on the Seahawk Digital Network as Mike Vaccaro, the voice of the Seahawks, will bring you all the action from Columbia.

UNCW tickets will be available beginning at 8 a.m. on Tuesday. Tickets may be purchased in the following fashion, online (, by calling 1-800-808-UNCW or in person at the Ticket Office at Trask Coliseum. Seahawk Club members will have priority.

Game 1 – No. 2 UNCW vs. No. 3 vs. Duke – 1 p.m.
Game 2 – No. 1 South Carolina vs. No. 4 Rhode Island- 7 p.m.
Saturday, June 4
Game 3 – Loser of Game 1 vs. Loser of Game 2 – 12 noon
Game 4 – Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 2 – 6 p.m.
Sunday, June 5
Game 5 – Winner of Game 3 vs. Loser of Game 4 – 12 noon
Game 6 – Winner of Game 5 vs. Winner of Game 4 – 6 p.m.
Monday, June 6
Game 7 – If Necessary – 6 p.m.
