Jacksonville man surrenders for stabbing

ONSLOW COUNTY — A Jacksonville man surrendered to deputies Tuesday admitting to stabbing another man at his estranged wife’s home.

Charles Poole Jr. is charged with attempted murder and first-degree burglary after allegedly stabbing George Taylor Sunday.

Investigators say Poole then went to his parent’s home in Delaware, where he called detectives.

They say Poole confessed, but claims Taylor jumped out of a closet and attacked him.
Taylor is in good condition at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
