Jamaica-bound flight continues after unexpected ILM stop

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — An unexpected stop in the Port City for travelers heading to Jamaica this morning.

An Air Jamaica Airbus with more than 100 people on board diverted to Wilmington International Airport after a passenger needed medical attention. Airport officials say the 80-year-old passenger suffering from chest pains was rushed to an area hospital.

The flight from Philadelphia to Montego Bay was grounded for more than three hours as customs cleared it to take off once again.
