Judges deny Thomas Wright’s appeal

Thomas Wright’s 2008 conviction will stand. Tuesday, judges denied Wright’s appeal of three counts of obtaining property by false pretenses.

In April of last year, Wright was found guilty of mishandling charitable contributions and fraudulently obtaining a $150,000 loan. He is currently serving six to eight years for his crimes.

A three judge panel ruled Tuesday that Wright did receive a fair trial.

In August of 2008, Wright was also convicted of felony obstruction of justice for failing to report campaign finance contributions.
