Junior League of Wilmington to host ‘Cheers for Children’ charity gala

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Junior League of Wilmington (JLWNC) invites the community to attend Cheers for Children. 

The charity gala will benefit the League’s community initiatives and supporting local children’s organizations.

The event will take place at Pine Valley Country Club on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Organizers said Cheers for Children will bring together community members for an elegant evening of giving and celebration.

The event will begin with a social hour from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner and dancing from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. featuring live music from Port City Rockers.

The evening will also include a cash bar and silent auction.

Guests are encouraged to embrace the evening’s black tie dress code and to bring a new doll or stuffed animal to donate.

These items will be distributed to children through partner organizations across the Wilmington community, helping bring comfort and joy to local youth in need.

Proceeds from Cheers for Children will support the Junior League of Wilmington’s mission of advancing women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training.

JLWNC has served the greater Wilmington community for more than 70 years, contributing over $1 million in charitable donations and tens of thousands of volunteer hours to local nonprofits and community initiatives.
