Jury selection in Walker trial set to begin

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Jury selection is expected to begin in the trial of Pierre Walker on Monday.

Walker is charged with murder after a car crash that killed a 61-year-old woman in February 2013.

Police say Walker was impaired at the time. He had been in and out of jail and court before the crash. The district attorney said at the time he should have been in jail when the crash happened.

Opening statements should begin on Tuesday.
