JUST A TEST: Duke Energy sounding sirens at Brunswick Nuclear Plant

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Don’t be alarmed if you hear sirens sound in and around Brunswick County Wednesday morning. Duke Energy is testing alert notification sirens around the Brunswick Nuclear Plant.

Duke Energy crews will do ten-second testing scheduled between 10 and 11 a.m. The 38 sirens within ten miles of the plant will be tested at low-volume throughout the morning in cooperation with New Hanover and Brunswick County officials .
