Justice won’t run for GOP vice chair again

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Hampstead’s Carolyn Justice says she will not run again to be NC Republican Party Vice Chair.

The former state representative says she’s enjoyed her year in the job, but is ready to move on. She says there are plenty of other good people out there to do it. She wants to give them time to prepare for the selection at the state GOP Convention in June.

Southeastern North Carolina had held a lot of power within the GOP. Earlier this year Bald Head Island’s Claude Pope announced he would not seek another term as GOP chair. He says he plans to focus more on his family and business interests. Pope became chair in 2013.
