Kadeem Allen named Juco player of week
Note: Kadeem Allen is a graduate of New Hanover High School. Allen also played high school basketball at Laney prior to his transfer to New Hanover. Allen is slated to play college basketball at Arizona.

HUTCHINSON, KS (HUTC RELEASE) — For the seventh time this season, Hutchinson Community College All-American guard Kadeem Allen has been named the Jayhawk Conference Division I Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
The 6-foot-3 sophomore from Wilmington, N.C., posted his 11th 30-point game of the season and helped the Blue Dragons to a pair of Jayhawk West wins last week.
Allen averaged 30.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 6.0 steals per game in victories over Cloud County and Pratt.
Against Cloud County, Allen had 29 points, seven assists and a career-high eight steals. In an overtime victory over Pratt, Allen had 31 points, going 14 of 16 from the line, with six rebounds, five assists and four steals. Allen scored four points in overtime.
This marks the eighth time a Blue Dragon has won weekly conference honors. Allen has also been named the NJCAA National Player of the Week twice this season.
Allen is eligible for national honors. That will be announced on Wednesday by the national office.
