Kay Hagan makes campaign stop in Wilmington

Even though we are not in her district, state Senator Kay Hagan campaigned in Wilmington today.

Hagan is challenging incumbent U.S. Senator Elizabeth Dole for a seat in the U.S. Senate.

Dole, who was elected in 2002, has a lot more money than Hagan and she has already started spending it on airtime.

Hagan said she plans to get her name out by getting out and meeting people.

“I’m going to go head-to-head with Elizabeth Dole. People are going to know who I am and what I stand for, and they’ll have an opportunity to come see me all across the state,” said Hagan.

Hagan spent most of her time at a gas station in downtown Wilmington.

She said high gas prices are her biggest concern.
