Kids at Codington pledge to be more kind

You might notice some area kids being a bit nicer these days.

Kindness Week kicked off Friday at Codington Elementary School. Kids pledge to be kinder at home, at school and in the community.

For every good deed written down, local businesses will donate a dollar to Make Way Partners. That is a charity working to end human trafficking and slavery in the Darfur region of Sudan.

Students have already decided how they’ll start being more kind.

“If someone gets hurt I will help them up, and if someone doesn’t know where the bathroom is or where the water fountain is, I’ll just guide them to where it is,” said Carter Walters.

All the money raised will build a dormitory for orphaned children in Sudan.
