Kure Beach plans to spend money on Ocean Front Park

The Town of Kure Beach recently got a $500,000 to improve a park. The money comes from the state’s Natural Heritage Trust Fund.

It will go toward the town’s Ocean Front Park.

In order to get the funding, Kure Beach must keep the area solely as a green space. Kure Beach’s mayor said the park is important for the town’s image.

Down the line, the town plans to build bathrooms, a pavilion for outdoor concerts and a play area for small children at the park.
