Lake Waccamaw issues boil water advisory

LAKE WACCAMAW, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Lake Waccamaw is asking residents to boil their water before using it, due to a leaking water main on Waccamaw Shores Rd.

The advisory is issued for people who live on both sides of the road to the dam. Homes affected are from 2813 and 2934 Waccamaw Shores Rd and continues to the dam.

Periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increases the potential for back siphonage and the introduction of bacteria into the water.

When water is restored, you should boil water for one minute.
