Lake Waccamaw teen shot during argument

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — An argument led to a shooting in Lake Waccamaw on Saturday night, according to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office.

It happened around 9:15 p.m. in the 200 block of George Graham Circle.

The Sheriff’s Office says the victim, Kenneth Battle, 17, and the suspects began arguing.

The Sheriff’s Office says during an argument, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and began shooting. One of the bullets hit Battle in the leg.

Battle was taken to the emergency room for treatment. The injury does not appear to be life-threatening.

The shooting is still being investigated.
