Last chance to claim North Carolina lottery loot

RALEIGH, NC (AP) — It’s now or never for instant scratch-off winners in North Carolina’s lottery. Officials with the North Carolina Education Lottery say Monday is the deadline to make claims for 10 of its instant scratch-off games.

In August, lottery officials announced the end of those games. According to policy, all instant game prizes must be claimed within 90 days of the announced end-of-game date.

Claims of $600 to $99,999 must be made at one of the six regional claim centers, while claims of $100,000 and more must be made at lottery headquarters. The prizes must be claimed before 5 p.m. Monday.

Claims that are mailed to the North Carolina Education Lottery must be received within 90 days of the official end-of-game date. Postmarks will not meet the 90-day requirement.
