Lavin to join Theater Hall of Fame

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington’s resident Tony winner is about to add another accolade to her resume. Playbill.com reports Linda Lavin will be inducted to the theater Hall of Fame in January.

Nominees must have a minimum of five major credits and 25 years on Broadway.

Lavin, who is best known for her title role in the TV show “Alice,” won a Tony in 1987 for “Broadway Bound.” She earned her fifth Tony nomination this year for her performance in “Collected Stories.”

Lavin and her husband own and operate the Red Barn Studio Theatre on S. 3rd Street.
