Leland councilman’s domestic violence case continued

BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) — A Leland Town Councilman was in court today, but will have to wait a couple more months to have his case heard.

Herbert Barnes walked into Brunswick County Court around 9 a.m. He left a short time later with a continuation till June 6.

Officers responded to a domestic violence call at Barnes’s home March 19. They charged the councilman with assault on a female/domestic assault.
