Leland man accused of setting stolen truck on fire
LELAND, NC (WWAY) – A Leland man is in custody accused of stealing a truck, and setting it on fire in the woods.
A news release said Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Jesse Lynn Williams, 27, at his home Wednesday.
He is in the Brunswick County Detention Center under a $25,000 bond charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen goods, and burning personal property.
Detectives said they found the stolen truck Tuesday, burned in a wooded area off of Lewis Swamp Road in Leland. They think Williams took the truck around Aug. 19 from a logging crew deck on Town Creek Road in the area of Royal Oak Drive. They said the Ford F-350 belonged to Wood Dock Construction.
