Leland man accused of sex crimes involving child lives near school
LELAND, NC (WWAY) — The Leland man facing charges for another sex crime involving a child lives near a Brunswick County school.
Deputies arrested Kenneth Ray Wells, 63, yesterday. He’s charged with statutory sexual offense.
The alleged victim in this case is under the age of 13.
Wells was recently charged with indecent liberties with a child. He’s scheduled to appear in court for that charge on March 20.
According to Wells address listed on the arrest warrant, he lives near the Roger Bacon Academy. Because of this, a judge added certain stipulations to Wells’s release orders.
Not only does he have a $1 million bond, he also can not live in a home where there is a minor present, must surrender passports and can not leave Brunswick County. He’s also ordered to stay away from the alleged victim’s home and school and can not community with the alleged victim.
