Leland middle schoolers to compete in state robotics competition

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — A team of middle schoolers from Leland are headed to North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro for a robotics competition, where they will compete with the best of the best in the state.

This is Leland Middle School’s first time making the state “First Lego League” competition.

Hurricane Florence forced them to miss the southeast regional competition, but they were able to go to a make-up tournament and made it to the top four out of 16 teams.

Robotics Coach Sarah Anderson says the students created the presentation and did all of the coding.

Good luck!
