Leland restaurant receives national recognition

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Al’s Burger Shack has earned top honors on a national list.

Al’s was named the “Best Burger in North Carolina” in Chowhound’s roundup of the best burgers in every state.

While the original shack began in Chapel Hill in 2013, the restaurant opened a location in Leland in 2024.

It’s located in front of the Lowe’s Home Improvement Store in the Leland Town Center.

The Leland location features a family and dog friendly covered patio, as well as indoor booths and tables.
