Let them eat cake, but not while driving

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — A case of eating and driving. That’s what police are blaming for a single-car crash that damaged the Wrightsville Beach drawbridge Friday night.

Investigators say the teenage girl driving was eating a piece of cake when she bumped the median, over-corrected and hit the concrete guardrail. The impact knocked out a piece of the guardrail.

Police cited the driver for a moving violation.
