Local gamers annoyed by network hacks
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Since late afternoon on Christmas Eve, both Sony’s PlayStation Network and Microsoft’s Xbox Live have been intermittently down.
There are reports that a hacker group named Lizard Squad is behind this attack.
People everywhere have been unable to play their brand new games that they got for Christmas.
One Wilmington gaming store says it’s been affecting a lot of local gamers.
“We’ve had a few where people have said like they were complaining about not being able to get online and asking us questions, and we really didn’t know much, but I had a few of my friends call me about it yesterday,” Game Giant’s Joshua Brown said. “So yeah, a lot of people were kind of upset.”
It is not known at this time when both networks will be back up and running.
