Local teachers bring Halloween to students
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Some students got a special surprise today when their teachers showed up to their neighborhoods on a school bus.
Faculty and Staff at Mary C. Williams Elementary School delivered books, supplies, and of course candy to about 200 of their school’s students. This is the schools second year putting on the “reverse treating” event.
Principal Amy Oots said it’s one of their favorite events of the year, and it’s a great way to get involved in the community.
“It’s great for the teachers to see where the students to live in their neighborhoods and to kind of spend some time with them in their homes,” said Oot.
All the books were purchased with family involvement Title 1 funds, and the other supplies were donated by the Community Outreach/Parent Involvement Committee.
