Local bartender running for council

WILMINGTON — The City Council elections are months away, but for the candidates, the issues at hand are close to home.

All this week we've been introducing you to the candidates. Today, meet local bartender Chuck Denson. He thinks he could be the change Wilmington needs.

Denson is one of the 12 people currently running for City Council. He likes to think of himself as an experienced voice for the average Joe.

Denson said, "I am running for the council to represent people that aren't ordinarily being represented — people that live paycheck to paycheck. I've had a little experience with that, and also I'd like to see the city take a greener position, more recycling, easier recycling and better recycling."

The City Council elections will be held on October 9.
