Local bookstore honoring veterans with two events

There are many events happening around our region, honoring and remembering those who have died serving our country.

Here in Wilmington, a local book store is providing a forum for living veterans to share their experiences.

Old Books on Front St. will present two events to honor our veterans for Memorial Day weekend.

The first is a WWII living history presentation by Charley Coleman and Bren Woodard on Friday May 23 at 7 p.m.

The second is a reading by Christopher Pascal, a recently returned Iraq war veteran, who will be reading from his debut novel, “Manson.” That event is on Saturday, May 24 at 3 p.m.

“We are hoping to provide a forum for veterans of many ages to share their experiences,” said Gwenyfar Rohler, owner of Old Books on Front St.
