Local doctor face charges related to practice in Beaufort

A local doctor has been called before the state medical board to face charges. Doctor Peter Kuers, who is associated with the ACT Medical Group of Wilmington, has been summoned related to his former practice in Beaufort.

The charges claim that Dr. Kuers did not properly sterilize his instruments, performed surgical practices without gloves, and had expired drugs and test kits in his office.

A hearing has been scheduled for August in Raleigh.
