Looking for Answers

In response to a NewsChannel 3 story on homeowners insurance, a Bladen County woman contacted us because her insurance company is dropping her. She wants to know why.

Eather Mitchell received a letter from her insurance company saying she will be dropped in September. She contacted the company, American Modern Home Insurance, but says her questions have not been answered.

Eather says she made at least four minor claims in recent years. She doesn’t think they warrant being dropped of her insurance coverage. She said, “I’m Devastated. I have to have some kind of homeowners insurance in the event that something happened, I will be covered. Otherwise I will not be able to take care of whatever damage.”

Although her current company will cover her during the majority of the hurricane season, she is concerned that she’ll have trouble being picked up by another company.

NewsChannel 3 has also tried to contact her insurance company with no success.
