Low country boil and brew, for a clean healthy coast

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Good food for a good cause, The North Carolina Coastal Federation and Wrightsville Beach Brewery hosted a low country boil and brew tonight.

The North Carolina Coastal Federation is a non-profit organization that works to provide clean coastal water and habitats, while protecting the coast.

This was their annual fundraiser for the Southeastern region.

Two hundred tickets were sold online and only fifty were left to be sold at the door.

This event was to celebrate and support a healthy coast.

“We live in paradise, we live where our waters are relatively clean and our oceans, our sounds and we all play here and we want to perverse that for the next generation, but we have many many challenges. We have challenges keeping those waters clean, we have challenges keeping water clean to drink,” Coastal scientist for North Carolina Coastal Federation, Tracy Skrabal said.

Proceeds from the event will go toward the federation’s clean water projects.
