Low visibility on road in Boiling Spring Lakes

BOILING SPRING LAKES, NC (WWAY) — The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office is alerting drivers to avoid Highway 133, or River Road, in Boiling Spring Lakes this morning.

Officials say there is extremely low visibility for about a two mile stretch in the area of Fifty Lakes Road, due to the prescribed burn at Orton Plantation yesterday.

The NC DOT could possibly shut the road down.

Officials strongly urge drivers to use extreme caution or avoid the area completely, if possible.
