Main Street Sidewalk Project underway in Sunset Beach

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Sunset Beach’s long-delayed Main Street Sidewalk Project is finally underway.

The project was supposed to start last fall, but was pushed back because of Hurricane Florence.

Town Clerk Lisa Anglin says the contractor started at the gazebo parking lot (intersection of Sunset Blvd. South and Main streets) and working toward the west end of the island between 27th and 40th streets.

“Property owners adjacent to Main Street are requested to remove any landscape, landscape timbers, fences, driveway stones, rock or any other encroachments and obstructions located within the right of way,” Anglin told WWAY.

The project is scheduled to be finished on May 17.
