Mall foreclosure auction postponed again

WILMINGTON, NC (StarNews) — The foreclosure auction of Independence Mall has been postponed for the ninth time since last year.

The sale set for last week was moved to Aug. 18 at 11 a.m. in the New Hanover County Courthouse, said attorney Andrew McVey, who has overseen the auction proceedings.

The mall’s leinholder, JP Morgan Chase, has pushed back the sale since the first foreclosure auction was scheduled for May 2015. It previously continued the sale dates in October, November, December, January, February and April.
