Man accused after 2 shot, killed in Charlotte
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) – Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have charged a man with murder after two people were found shot to death inside a home.
The Charlotte Observer reports (http://bit.ly/RrbmcT) 28-year-old Jacquece Forest is charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of Jennifer Smith and Luc Eric Gonzalez. Both Smith and Gonzalez were 25.
Police say a woman called to say she thought she’d seen her ex-boyfriend in the woods behind her house. About two hours later, officers stopped a speeding vehicle. The suspect fled on foot to an apartment but was captured and taken to a hospital for treatment and told staff he had shot his girlfriend.
Capt. Nick Pellicone said officers went to the home and found a man and woman dead. He said a child at the home was not injured.
