Man accused of raping child in Brunswick County

BOILING SPRING LAKES, NC (WWAY) – The U.S. Marshals Service has arrested a man wanted for raping a child in Boiling Spring Lakes.

On November 6, the Boiling Spring Lakes Police Department began investigating Jonathan Matthew Evans on allegations of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl. Evans, 30, was living in the home with the girl at the time. The alleged assaults happened between August 8 and November 6 of this year.

U.S. Marshals found Evans in Baxley, Georgia on November 30.

Evans is charged with two counts of first degree forcible rape and two counts of forced sex offense.

Evans in the Brunswick County Detention Center under a $750,000 bond.
