Man accused of sexually assaulting 5-year-old girl

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Pender County man is behind bars for allegedly sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl.

The Pender County Sheriff’s Office says 54-year-old Zenaido Pablo Jacinto Martinez, of Rocky Point, was arrested on Monday following an investigation.

The suspect was charged with one count of felony Statutory Sex Offense of a Child by an Adult, two felony counts of Indecent Liberties of a Child and one count of misdemeanor Sexual Battery.

The suspect is currently in the Pender County Jail under a $1,000,000 secured bond.

Deputies ask for you to contact Sgt. Steve Clinard with any information concerning Zenaido Pablo Jacinto Martinez, who has lived in various areas within Pender and New Hanover County over the past several years. PCSO says he is originally from Mexico, but has been in the US for approximately 12-14 years.
