Man arrested after police chase near Fair Bluff

 

FAIR BLUFF, NC – A 33-year-old Fair Bluff man is behind bars facing several charges this afternoon.

Investigators say it started last week, when they responded after someone shot into an occupied car in Chadbourn.

Chadbourn police got a search warrant for Kyle Brannon Tucker.  This morning, the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office, along with SBI, Chadbourn Police and the NC Highway Patrol searched Tucker’s home but he wasn’t there.  Shortly after, investigators say they spotted Tucker driving near Fair Bluff.  After a brief chase, Tucker was arrested.

Tucker is in custody at the Columbus County Law Enforcement Center.

He’s charged with Assault by Pointing a Gun, Discharging a Weapon into an Occupied Property, and Assault with a Deadly Weapon with the Intent to Kill.

Deputies say he’s also charged with Possession of a Stolen Firearm and Carrying a Concealed Gun. Deputies say Tucker was armed when he was stopped today.

Whiteville Police have also charged him with Breaking or Entering into a Motor Vehicle and Larceny from a Motor Vehicle.

No word yet on his bond amound.
