Man arrested after single-car crash

Wilmington, NC (WWAY) — Police officers arrested a man Tuesday evening following a single car crash in Wilmington.

It happened around 6:30 p.m. on the 1400 block of South College Road.

Wilmington Police say Anthony Taylor, of Leland, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer when he went left of center.

Police say he ran over a curb near Oleander Pointe, hit a sign and traffic light control box, before eventually lodging his SUV on a fire hydrant.

Taylor is charged with possession of synthetic marijuana, reckless driving and driving during revocation.

He’s since been released on a $10,000 unsecured bond.

Wilmington Police say no injures were reported.

Traffic lights were restored by 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.
