Man arrested for stabbing outside Mainstay Suites

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Two victims are recovering from multiple stab wounds after a scuffle early this morning.

The stabbing happened outside the Mainstay Suites on market street around 4:30 am Sunday.

Police were able to hold the suspect, arresting 19 year-old Jared Askel for assault with a deadly weapon and inflicting injury.

He is currently awaiting trial on a 100-thousand dollar bond.

This is at least Askel’s fourth arrest since October.

His other violations include multiple breaking and enterings as well as parole violation.
