Man arrested in connection with Whiteville jewelry store robbery
WHITEVILLE, N.C. (WWAY) — Authorities have arrested a man in connection with the armed robbery of a jewelry store in Whiteville.
The Whiteville Police Department says about $15,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from Fowler Jewelry on Monday, Oct. 4.
Police say the suspect drove off in a dark colored BMW sports utility vehicle. During the course of the investigation, police connected Je’shaun Burnette to the SUV.
Detectives with the Whiteville Police Department discovered that Burnette was in Clearwater, Florida. Working with the Clearwater Police Department’s Fugitive Task Force, authorities took Burnette into custody.
Burnette also has outstanding warrants in Miami and is being held without bond pending extradition. Other charges are pending in reference to the Whiteville Police investigation.
