Deputies: Man arrested with 890 bags of heroin

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – A man is in the New Hanover County Detention Center without bond after a heroin bust.

New Hanover County Sheriff’s Spokesman, Lt. Jerry Brewery, says the Sheriff’s Office Gang Task Force was investigating Justin Jenkins.

Around 11:30 a.m. on Friday, detectives stopped Jenkins in the 5000 block of Long Pointe Road.  Deputies say Jenkins had in his possession 890 bags of heroin and drug paraphernalia.

During a search of Jenkins’ home, the Gang Task Force found more drugs and paraphernalia.

Jenkins was charged with 2 counts of trafficking heroin, 2 counts of possession with the intent to manufacture sell and deliver heroin, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
