Man attacked, robbed on N. 11th St.

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police say a man was attacked and robbed overnight at 611 N. 11th Street.

The victim told police he went outside around 3:30 a.m. to smoke a cigarette, when someone jumped him from behind and started to choke him. The attacker reportedly told the victim to give him money. The suspect ran off with $60.

Police say the victim could not provide a physical description of his attacker, but did give officers a name of someone he thought it might be. Investigators are checking out the lead.
