Man bikes from Toledo to Wilmington


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A man has a plan to bike 6,000 miles and Wilmington is a stop on the way.

Alan Thomson from Toledo has been making his way around the perimeter of the US, stopping to help at Habitat for Humanity chapters along the way.

Thomson left Toledo on August 17th making stops in Cleveland, Buffalo, Portland, New Haven, Washington D.C., and Suffolk on his way to his final stop in the Outer Banks.

Wednesday, Thomson helped the Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity Chapter at 1414 King Street. Thursday, he heads off to South Carolina.

Thomson’s goal is to make $20,000 to support both Habitat for Humanity and Save the Children.
