Man busted in Brunswick Co. now charged in SC murder
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The man arrested and charged after a traffic stop near Shallotte has now been charged in a murder investigation. His mother and brother are already facing murder charges.

Charles Thomas Brown was arrested last week on a firearm charge after an investigation into possible criminal activity at a Shallotte home ended up in a traffic stop and arrest, according to a news release. His mother, Nancy Kennedy, was also in Brunswick County but booked in the Beaufort County Jail under accessory to murder charges. Her other son, Olin Brown, was also booked last week on murder charges, according to jail records.
Charles Thomas Brown was booked in the Beaufort County Jail Friday afternoon. He’s now facing murder and a firearm charge and is being held under no bond, jail records said.
Investigators said the family members have been linked to two deaths, a 25-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man, according to our ABC-affiliate, WJCL. Investigators said the female victim was Charles Brown’s girlfriend.
