Man charged after woman, officer assaulted

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police say a man is facing assault charges after they say he assaulted a woman and the responding officer.

They say David Carver, 36, is facing charges including assault on a female and assault on a law enforcement officer.

Investigators said they responded to the 300 block of 23rd Street at around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday. As they were trying to arrest Carver on the assault on a female charge, they say he kicked an officer twice.

He was booked in the New Hanover County jail under a $5,000 bond.
